Campaign launched to promote global export

BUSINESSES are being encouraged to think globally, with a new government campaign launched offering support in exporting goods and services.

The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills has launched the ‘Exporting is GREAT’ campaign.

As part of that, a roadshow offering practical advice and guidance is due to visit Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard on Wednesday, May 25.

There will be workshops, one-to-one meetings and networking opportunities with UK Trade and Investment advisers, local support services and leading business support providers.

Fareham MP Suella Fernandes has given her support to the campaign, after meeting with representatives of UK Trade and Investment in Westminster.

Miss Fernandes visited a number of companies that are taking advantage of global markets, including Polycast in Warsash which makes metal cast products including fittings for Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars.

Miss Fernandes said: ‘I’m very proud of all the great companies we have locally in Fareham – many of which, like Polycast, are already successfully exporting all around the world.

‘The “Exporting is GREAT” campaign aims to provide support and encouragement to many other firms who could also be taking advantage of the chance to sell their goods and services overseas.

‘As well as the roadshow, the website has a lot of resources and details of opportunities, and I’d recommend businesses take a look, or get in touch with me to find out more.’
