A CAMPAIGN to recruit more community transport scheme drivers is being stepped up with three short films.

The films, which include ex Southampton player Matt Le Tissier and celebrity gardener Charlie Dimmock, show the real difference volunteer drivers make to the lives of members of their communities who can no longer drive themselves.

Community transport is provided to help people who cannot use mainstream transport services for whatever reason.

The Volunteer Driver campaign was first launched by Hampshire County Council in 2012

The campaign is being led by the County Council in partnership with Hampshire Volunteer Centres, CVS Network and the Good Neighbours Support Service.
