Can you volunteer to foster a kitten in need?

Like most animals, this time of year is when the feline population reproduces itself and this results in lots of kittens looking to be re-homed.

But, before these adorable bundles can be placed into their ‘forever homes’, they have to be weaned off their mothers and cared for until they reach eight weeks 
old.

Jan Jarvis, fostering co-ordinator at Stubbington Ark, says: ‘With the limited resources we have in our cattery, we heavily on our foster carers to work with us and care for our kitten litters until they are ready to be re-homed.

We are desperate to add to the cat foster carers we have on our database.

We would like to make an urgent appeal for experienced cat owners to come forward and volunteer to foster our kitten litters (sometimes with and sometimes without their mothers).

To foster our kittens you will need to have your own transport so that you can collect the kittens from us and then bring them along to the Ark every two weeks.

So then we can monitor their development and provide them with the relevant vaccinations and treatments.

We will provide you with everything you need – cat carrier, litter trays, bowls, litter, food, toys beds and bedding.

All you need to add is all of your love and lots of cuddles.

And the end result will be beautiful, well-socialised kittens ready to move into their forever homes.

Who could ask for a more rewarding experience than that?’
