IT’S only six metres in length and hardly the most obvious choice for a swimathon.

But dogs made short work of swimming the length of a hydrotherapy pool 1,500 times to raise money for Canine Partners.

A total of 29 dogs took it in turns to do the laps at Hydrotherapy Four Paws at Knowle Village Business Park.

The aim of the fundraiser was for dogs to swim the distance of the Solent – around five-and-a-half miles in total.

Each dog swam swim between 10 and 40 lengths.

Many of the dogs use the hydrotherapy pool as a form of treatment for medical conditions they suffer from. Cash raised will help support people with disabilities.
