FAREHAM’S newest care home, Parker Meadows, has been shortlisted for an industry gong just months after opening.

The home on Redlands Lane has reached the final of the ‘Care Team Award’, which is part of the Great South East Care Awards, a national celebration of excellence.

Judges were impressed with the level of care provided at the home.

Parker Meadows manager, Tracey Hillier, said: ‘To be recognised in this way is just wonderful.

‘The atmosphere in the home is inspiring and that makes for a fantastic team spirit which clearly came across to the judges.

‘Fingers crossed for the final!’

The winners will be announced at a ceremonyhosted by TV star Dr Hilary Jones in Brighton on Friday, November 30.

Parker Meadows was also awarded a Silver CAP in recognition of their housekeeping and catering services.

The care home is on the former site of the Tom Parker Dairy.
