THE support of the community has been praised as a charity celebrates a windfall of £2,144.

The money was raised in a single night when counselling charity Off The Record held an event at Grosvenor Casino in Osborne Road, Southsea.

As reported, Radio 1 DJ Rob da Bank, who was born in Portsmouth, played the music.

Jill Oliver, a counsellor who helped to organise the event, said: ‘It’s amazing.

‘Hopefully it will keep us going.’
