STAFF at a hotel rowed and cycled almost 200 miles to raise cash for two good causes.

The Hilton Hotel, in Farlington, held a fun day for the community which raised £1,300 for Hannah’s Holiday Home and Off the Record.

Some of the sponsored cycling and rowing was done on exercise machines while the rest of the mileage was carried out the hard way.

Pam Marshall, who set up Hannah’s Holiday Home in memory of her daughter who died of cancer in 2004, said: ‘The wind did not deter the intrepid staff of the Hilton Hotel.

‘There was so much going on throughout the afternoon. Teams took part in cycling and rowing to clock up the miles and a great variety of stalls and bouncy castles kept the children and adults amused.

‘Poppin’ Ron from Britain’s Got Talent wowed the crowds with his dance troupe, as did Classique School of Dance.’
