A NEW Age UK shop in Portsmouth is to be opened on Friday, May 22 at 18 Arundel Street at 10am.

The charity hopes the shop will be a success with local shoppers who are looking for individual, ‘one-off pieces’.

Age UK’s retail development manager Jo Needler said: ‘We’re very excited about our new shop opening in Portsmouth; it’s got lots of room for clothes and other goodies. We urge everyone in the area to come and check it out, but also to bring their unwanted items to the store.’

Age UK relies on the donations to keep the shelves stocked, and is also open to any volunteers who can give a few
hours of their time a week to the new shop.

‘Not only could you be helping another customer find a unique item that they will cherish, you’ll also be helping the charity raise vital funds to deliver a range of services to help ensure older people across the country can make the most of later life,’ said Jo.
