MEMBERS of a Fareham rock and pop choir have written a song to mark Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding.

Voxpop will perform the number Something Blue for the first time at the Southampton Guildhall Street Party on April 29.

The group will sing their song and a variety of others next to a giant screen in the square which will beam a live broadcast of the ceremony to the crowd.

Amanda Field, who wrote the track, said: ‘I was moved to write the song when I heard that Kate Middleton was to wear the sapphire engagement ring that had once belonged to Princess Diana.

‘I’m sure that everyone who watches the wedding ceremony will be conscious of Diana’s absence and in the last verse of the song I suggest that though we cannot see her, she will be there in spirit.’
