SOUTHSEA’S Kings Theatre has paid tribute to actor Alan Rickman, who died today.

PR manager at the Albert Road venue Sandra Smith said: ‘Although Alan Rickman never appeared in our theatre, we all greatly admire him for his work both in films and on stage.

‘We are in shock and saddened to hear of his death.

‘He was a great actor, a wonderful professional and of course, the Harry Potter world will never be the same without him.

‘He was far too young – 69 is no age to go and it is a terrible way to start the new year.

‘Our greatest condolences go out to his friends and family in this sad time. We will all miss him.’
