COFFEE and cakes were the order of the day as councillors and department workers did their bit to raise cash for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Mayor of Fareham, Cllr Susan Bayford, hosted the event in the Mayor’s Parlour in support of the big coffee morning.

Cllr Bayford said: ‘Macmillan is such a wonderful organisation.’

Also present at the coffee morning was Lisa Murphy, fundraising manager for Macmillan Cancer Support. She said: ‘We’ve had over 3,000 coffee mornings across Hampshire and we hope to raise over £200,000 for people affected by cancer. This has been a record breaking year. We think about 5 million attended a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan and that’s absolutely fantastic.’

Titchfield ward Cllr Connie Hockley also attended. She said: ‘I support this 100 per cent. Throughout the country people are doing a wonderful job in raising money for such a brilliant cause.’
