YOUNGSTERS are being given the chance to shine on stage in a Christmas pantomime.

The Kings Theatre is holding open auditions for Sleeping Beauty, which will star Danniella Westbrook and Christopher Maloney.

Producers are looking for girls and boys for the show. Candidates will be auditioned in groups and taught a short dance routine, so they must wear suitable clothes.

Girls must be aged seven and over and 5ft 2in at the most. Boys must be nine and over and at least 5ft 2in.

Many will be hoping to replicate the success of 11-year-old Demi-Tullulah Scott who is taking the world of musicals by storm having just been picked to star in Bugsy Malone, in Southampton, and The Kings Theatre’s production of Swan Lake, which is on October 18 and 19.

Auditions for Sleeping Beauty will be held at the Albert Road Theatre on September 15 from 10am onwards.

If successful, candidates should be available to attend rehearsals mainly after school and at weekends. Rehearsal start dates are still to be confirmed. The positions are unpaid.
