‘I wouldn’t have changed anything,’ smiles Vicki, originally from Milton, Portsmouth.

Vicki met the love of her life on the dating website Plenty of Fish and says Carl was the first person she matched with.

‘I thought I would give online dating a go and see if I met someone different,’ says Vicki, 30.

‘I decided one day to make a profile and Carl is the one and only person I spoke to on it.’

After talking for a couple of weeks, Vicki and Carl, 36, went on a date in Winchester and clicked straight away.

Something the Postins laugh about is how Carl lied on his dating profile.

‘It wasn’t anything serious and he hadn’t used a different picture.

‘But he said he could drive – he couldn’t. He said he went to university – he hadn’t,’ laughs Vicki.

‘But if he had never lied then he wouldn’t have come up on my profile anyway.’

After meeting up, the couple realised they shared the same ‘eclectic music taste’ and ‘a love for Cornwall’.

Vicki, who works with apprentices , says: ‘We have gone to Bude a couple of times and just love it in Cornwall. Carl proposed to me at St Nectans Glen Waterfalls in Tintagel on my 30th birthday.’

Reflecting in the lead-up to her spring wedding, Vicki says only the ‘last two months were hectic’ and she felt ‘quite calm’ on the morning.

‘I started to get nervous when we had to go and see the registrar separately to finalise our details for the marriage certificate.

‘But it was a lovely day for us. Carl’s speech was amazing and he laughed: “lie on your profile, it gets you somewhere.”

‘The whole day was perfect.’

With their 60 day and 100 evening guests, the Postins partied the night away with all of their friends and family.

The Postins, who live in Eastleigh, had a short break to their favourite place – Cornwall – but plan to honeymoon in Italy soon.

Vicki adds: ‘We have a good laugh together and we just enjoy being in each other’s company.’
