IT was a day full of pride and emotion as 25 years of dedication to the elderly was celebrated.

A party was held at Fawnhope Rest Home, in Stockheath Road, Havant, to mark 25 years of service by its registered care manager, Karen Webb.

The Mayor of Havant borough, Councillor Marjorie Smallcorn, dropped by to congratulate Karen and there was entertainment from Cowplain Ukelele Group.

Helen Collis-Ayoubi, who helps to organise activities at the rest home, said: ‘Karen does a fantastic job.

‘Her speech was amazing.

‘She’s done an awful lot for the residents and staff at Fawnhope and really held them together.

‘It was very emotional – Karen was very touched by the whole day. She was trying to hold back the tears.’
