Have your say

WHO do you know who deserves a pair of Pompey tickets?

The News is giving away two tickets to every Blues league match at Fratton Park this season to fans in need of a boost.

Next up is Dagenham & Redbridge this Tuesday evening. We will buy the tickets from Pompey’s 12th Man, a community association which helps deserving fans get to games.

But to make the scheme work we need to hear from you and your choice on who deserves a treat.

We are looking for people who could do with a lift – perhaps they have had a hard time with financial struggles, illness, or other personal circumstances.

It’s up to you. So now’s the time to think about who you want to put forward.

Tom Dearie, of the Pompey Supporters Trust, is backing the scheme on behalf of the trust. He said: ‘It’s a great scheme for rewarding young people in the community who maybe did something to help other people.

‘Although they aren’t asking for recognition, this allows them to be recognised.

‘It ties in with the whole community ethos of the supporters’ trust and what Portsmouth Football Club should be about.

‘It’s a way of linking with the local community.’

How to get your tickets

TO nominate yourself or a friend for a match ticket, all you need to do is e-mail or write to us at 1000 Lakeside in North Harbour – full contact details on page 24 of The News today – to tell us why you or your friend deserve the tickets.

Tickets are available for Tuesday’s clash with Dagenham & Redbridge.

We will need to receive your letters and e-mails by the end of tomorrow, and you must be willing to be interviewed and have your picture taken for the paper.

Please include your name, address, telephone number and, if nominating someone else, their contact details.
