ARTISTS, craftspeople and manufacturers are being invited to design and make a portable events space.
The stage is part of Winchester City Council’s new events space and will be used in the Winchester district, which covers half of Whiteley.
Cllr Patricia Stallard, Winchester City Council’s portfolio holder for communities, culture and sport, said: ‘A tailor-made, portable event space for the Winchester District will reflect the many community celebrations which characterised the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in the summer of 2012 and act as a lasting reminder.’
The brief is for the event space to be a feature in its own right and to be sympathetic to Winchester’s heritage and environment. It also needs to be easily transportable.
The winning design will be commissioned by the council at a cost of £20,000. For more information go to the South East Business Portal at http://tinyurl.com/c3r7g42.
