BRAVE Clair Turner is holding a charity fundraiser after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

But the diagnosis has not stopped Clair, of Widley.

She has made plans to hold the fundraiser and run the Race for Life in July, in the middle of receiving chemotherapy.

The 41-year-old is going in for her initial operation next week and wanted to hold a Macmillan fundraiser which she has organised for tomorrow.

‘I posted it on Facebook two weeks ago and we had two days where we just sat overwhelmed in tears by people’s generosity. Not because I’m scared, but overwhelmed – it’s just unbelievable,’ said Clair.

‘At the end of the day this is what it is, I can’t change it. The only thing I can do is fight it, and if at the same time I can raise awareness and raise money then it makes the whole fight worthwhile.’

The Macmillan fundraiser is at Moneyfields Sport & Social Club, Moneyfield Avenue, Portsmouth, from 7pm to 11pm and will include a magician, DJ, raffle and more.

Clair’s son Alfie is shaving his head on the night and any donations for Clair’s fundraiser can be made through his Just Giving page at justgiving.com/Clair-Turner3.

Clair is asking for a £2 donation for adults and £1 for children as an entry fee which will be added to the donation pot.
