WHEN Kate Brady booked her wedding day last year, she didn’t realise it was going to coincide with the beginning of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
And after the bride-to-be made the connection in March she knew the day was going to become even more special – because she will become known as Mrs Diamond.
Kate will tie the knot with her partner of three years John Diamond at Lysses House Hotel, in High Street, Fareham, today.
But the Gosport couple aren’t planning a royal-themed wedding with bunting and union jack flags – because they don’t want to upstage the Queen.
Kate, 31, said: ‘A lot of the guests are talking about the connections between the wedding and the Jubilee now.
‘I guess it’s strange that we never really thought about it in that way before.
‘I don’t have any intentions of upstaging the Queen. This is all about our special day.
John, 27, said: ‘It’s definitely going to give the day a special twist.’
