PREPARATIONS are being made for the return of a popular summer fair.

Horndean Road recreation park will be lined with stalls – from beekeepers and the WI to the Hampshire Air Ambulance and owl displays – for the Emsworth Show.

The event began life nearly 100 years ago and is organised by the Emsworth Horticultural Society.

Entertainment in the animal-themed show marquee will include the quack pack, ferret world, and Homested dog agility as well as performances from bike stunt duo Zero Gravity and the TS Unity band.

The day will end with a raffle and the prizes include a £500 outside dining set from Stansted Country Park as well as a range of vouchers for local shops.

Profits will go to local charities, including Age Concern, schools and youth groups.

Up to 30 good causes are supported with grants of between £50 and £500 each.

A decision will be made in the autumn. The show is on August 27 from 10.30am to 5pm. Entry fee is £2.50 and free for under 12s. Parking is limited and costs £3.
