A DOG has been abandoned tied up outside a vets’ surgery in Portsmouth.

The nine-year-old German Shepherd dog, was found on Wednesday night.

He was left with a note giving his name as Boz, which explained how the owner had him since a puppy.

The note went on to say how the owner is now homeless and has mental problems and could not cope with Boz.

The black and tan dog has lost all his hair along his spine, tail and hind legs.

His skin is red and inflamed and he has two red rings of bare skin around his eyes, and with hair loss on his ears.

RSPCA inspector Jenny Ride said: ‘This poor dog is in a terrible condition.

‘It was clear his skin is very irritated because he was scratching constantly and made his face bleed.’

Boz is now at an RSPCA animal centre where he is now receiving care.

The RSPCA are now appealing for information about Boz.
