Dog show organiser is looking to the future

THE WORK this year has only just begun '“ that is the message from Gosportarian Malcolm Dent.

The Gosport Dog show, which took place in Walpole Park last weekend, was an enormous success, and is the first in a string of events for the rest of this year.

The event raised more than £2,500 – which will be used to purchase equipment for local dog groups.

Malcolm Dent, who organised the event, says that it is just the beginning of what promises to be a very busy year for the Gosportarians.

He explained: ‘The whole day went great – we had lots of photographs taken throughout the event.

‘Even though the weather wasn’t exactly stellar, we had hundreds of dogs and just as many people in tow.’

Malcolm and the Gosportarians have three more events lined up, all of which are happening very soon.

He said: ‘In three weeks time we have got Music Madness for the Mayor’s charity; this will be followed by Find My Club and the Short Story Competition for the local schools.

‘It is going to be a busy few months, but hopefully it all goes just as well as the Dog Show has.’

Music Madness will be taking place in Walpole Park, June 17.
