THE Royal wedding is coming early to a museum this week.

Westbury Manor Museum in West Street, Fareham, is hosting a garden party on Thursday to commemorate the big day.

Youngsters are invited to get involved with some traditional party games and go retro by coming along in vintage fancy dress from any era. There will be prizes for the best-dressed child and adult.

And alongside the free games and entertainment there will also be the chance to make your mark as part of a commemorative thumb-print mosaic.

To make sure as many as possible can enjoy the event, there will be two hour-long sessions from 2pm and 3pm.

Councillor Connie Hockley, who is in charge of community matters, said: ‘With the whole country getting excited about the forthcoming Royal wedding, this event is a great opportunity for local children to take part in a fun-filled party celebration to commemorate this special occasion.’

The Mayor and Mayoress of Fareham, Cllr Brian and Cllr Susan Bayford will also be there, adding their thumb prints to the commemorative mosaic.

Children under eight are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
