The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) fell from 1.8% to 1.6% over the month, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS). It was last lower in November 2004. EASTER egg donations are being requested by a funeral directors to help put a smile on children’s faces.

AG Stapleford and Sons have two branches and both are appealing to businesses, community groups and residents to donate Easter eggs which will be passed on to children going through a tough time.

The funeral director is part of Dignity, which launched its annual Easter Egg Challenge for children.

Business manager Rebecca Lambert said: ‘We hope the community will support us and help to make Easter an easier time for children who cannot be at home.’
