MORE than 100 sympathy cards were spread throughout the bungalow of an inspirational fundraiser who lost her son to cancer last year.
Julie Scarborough, 79, from Widley, welcomed people into her home on Saturday afternoon to raise money in memory of her son David Scarborough, (pictured).
She said: ‘I’m so grateful for everyone coming today and hope I can stop other parents from going through this pain and grief.’
Karen Brain, 51, from Copnor, who has cancer herself, helped Julie with the event.
She said: ‘The more money we raise, the more money can be used to fight cancer.’
The jumble sale and tombola raised nearly £300 for Cancer Research.
