JUST one week to go...
From next Wednesday we will be making changes to your favourite daily paper to ensure we bring you more news and views from the areas where you live.
We’ve maintained a proud tradition for 135 years of keeping you up-to-date with all the best news, sport and information from across our circulation area.
Two reader surveys have shown that you appreciate the quality of much of what we do. But in listening to what you have told us we know there’s always room for improvement.
Our focus has certainly been one of evolution, rather then revolution – by looking at ways we can bring more stories from the communities where you live.
Among the changes will be:
n Better news coverage for each of the editions of The News;
n A daily ‘Community Views’ in which we invite you to give us your thoughts on the issues that matter to you;
n We already champion our pubs under our Love Your Local campaign – but we will also be turning the spotlight every week on our schools and celebrating the work of our community groups;
n There will be more pictures from the events we cover to ensure we have more of your faces in the paper every week;
n Our popular Remember When page will be spread across two pages to give you more room to wander down memory lane;
n Our daily court round up returns;
n We will also be looking at the planning applications being put in to your local councils;
n And our sports team will be covering more of the grass roots stories you have to tell us about.
Remember The News is All About You. We will continue to listen and improve.
