Alex Ballard, 21, from Ford Road in Gosport, brought her two-year-old daughter Lilly-Anna.

‘She was scared at first,’ she said. ‘But she came to really like it. It was fantastic - this was our first year but it was one of the best displays I’ve ever seen.’

Visitor services organiser at the museum, Marc Farrance, added: ‘It was great. What better place to have a fireworks display than a former munitions and gunpowder store?’
