Facebook gigs raise money for children’s hospice charity

TWO children’s hospices are to benefit from £11,000 thanks to money raised from online Facebook gigs.

Since the beginning of lockdown, Naomi House and Jacksplace have been running a series of virtual charity concerts on Facebook Live every weekday evening to raise much needed funds.

The need for new funding streams has been heightened after charity shops have had to close and events have been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Emma Huskins, digital marketing executive for Naomi House & Jacksplace, said: ‘I am absolutely over the moon that we have been able to raise a staggering £11,000 from this series of virtual charity gigs. Not only have we been able to raise these incredibly important funds, which will allow our hospices to continue to be there for local families that need it most, we’ve also raised significant awareness of our charity to audiences which we might not have otherwise been able to reach.
