FAMILIES flocked to Fort Purbrook at the weekend to enjoy a day of active fun.
Youngsters had a go at archery, karate, climbing and assault courses at the Peter Ashley Activity Centre in Portsdown Hill Road.
There was also a tug of war, sack races and rifle shooting.
Elizabeth Reynolds took her sons Harry, nine, and Joshua, seven, along.
The 38-year-old, of Privett Road in Gosport, said: ‘They’ve had a good day out.
‘It’s nice to let them do some active things which require a bit of effort rather than just sitting in front of a screen or something.
‘We don’t come to Fort Purbrook much.
‘It’s one of those things you forget we are lucky to have in our area.’
The activity centre will next run a summer activities programme.
