Fareham bubble artist helps break two world records

EXPLODING bubbles, square bubbles and bubble tornadoes were all a part of a performance to celebrate the humble soap bubble and break two world records.

Damian Jay from Fareham was one of 80 bubble artists who were part of the Guinness World Record attempt at the World Bubble Festival and the 5th International Bubble Daze Conference in North Wales

The 42-year-old said: ‘Wales truly is an amazing country, rich in history, legends and folklore.

‘To be in these breath-taking settings and share the wonder, magic and the sheer joy of bubbles is a privilege.

‘With everything going on in the world today, it is wonderful to be able to provide escapism even for a few hours for people to just have fun.’

The event, organised by north Wales bubble company Dr Zigs, featured three days of spectacular public events showcasing the magic of giant bubbles and bubble performers joined up with over 200 members of the public broke two world records; the largest number of people to create giant bubbles in one place and the greatest number of people to produce multi bubbles.

Paola Dyboski-Bryant from Dr Zigs said: ‘Having so many talented bubble artists in one place is a world-first.

‘We are honoured to have hosted such a unique event and proud to offer the opportunity to enjoy such exceptional feast to our local communities. We hope that these artists will go back to their own countries and tell their families, friends and followers how much fun they have had in North Wales, how beautiful it is, and how welcoming and endearing the people who live here are.’

Damian has been entertaining for over 20 years with his children’s and family party entertainment business and in the last three years has performed his Believe-A-Bubble show at holiday resorts, five-star hotels, weddings and private functions all over the UK.

He said: ‘It was an exciting opportunity to perform not only as part of the festival for the public, but getting to learn from and perform in front of some of the biggest artists I respect and admire in the bubbling world is amazing.

Fortunately my nerves didn’t show , if they had the bubbles would have had the shakes.’
