Dressed from head-to-toe in her navy blue Domino’s uniform, Siobhan Scollick never thought she would meet the love of her life while she was delivering pizza in Fareham.

But as it goes, Siobhan met Jake Lawrence, her now-husband, because they started chatting between shifts while he worked at the Chinese takeaway a few doors down.

‘I started noticing him going to work. We started chatting and it all went from there,’ says Siobhan, 29.

The couple, who live at Portcheser, met in 2008 and officially became a couple on September 7. Nine years later to the day they got engaged, and 11 years later on that day, they married.

‘I always said I would not cry at things like proposals, but I was a mess,’ admits Siobhan.

While Jake, a mechanic, and Siobhan were out for dinner at Ask Italian at Fareham, a dessert arrived on their table which spelt out the words ‘will you marry me?’

Siobhan smiles and says: ‘I was so shocked. I couldn’t believe it was happening.

‘In the nine years we had been together we had our two boys Logan and Harrison so I just didn’t think we would get married.’

The couple knew they wanted to get married on a Saturday and on their anniversary, so they planned their wedding for two years before they tied the knot at Marwell Hotel, Winchester.

‘We felt like we had a long time but in reality the day before the wedding, we were still setting up table decorations,’ she explains.

‘I was quite calm really. I knew I had him waiting for me at the end of the aisle.

‘I think one of my favourite parts was our wedding singer. Everyone really enjoyed the music and it made it more relaxed.’

After their ‘great’ wedding, Siobhan and Jake, 30, enjoyed their honeymoon in Zante, Greece.

Siobhan smiles and says: ‘I love the way Jake takes everything in his stride – he is never stressed.

‘He makes us feel safe.’
