DEDICATED fundraiser Simon Tier, whose friend is fighting a brain tumour, will cycle 400 miles for charity.

The 46-year-old, from Fareham, will cover the distance in four days and his route will see him visit four Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence.

Simon, above, is hoping other supporters will join him along the way, helping him achieve a target of more than £40,000 for charity Brain Tumour Research.

The ride will see him spend 11 hours a day on his bike.

He will start at the charity’s headquarters in Buckinghamshire on February 28, then he will visit London, Portsmouth and finish at Plymouth University on March 3.

Simon’s fundraising began in 2011 when his friend Alan Neilson was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

He said: ‘We are expecting bad weather and poor visibility but this is nothing compared to the challenges that all brain tumour patients face.’

Joining him on the ride will be Carol Robertson, 54, head of community fundraising at Brain Tumour Research.
