IT IS an iconic structure which has dominated Emsworth’s skyline for more than 80 years.
But in just a few weeks’ time the gas holder, off Palmers Road, will be demolished.
On Friday and Saturday night residents will have the chance to say farewell as a silent disco is held on the pavement while images of the gas works are beamed on to it.
Organised by WemsFest founder Mark Ringwood, the images will be accompanied by industrial music by the likes of Kraftwerk and Pink Floyd.
It begins at 8pm on both nights and will last for an hour.
