FESTIVE activities will be taking place in Bishop’s Waltham later this month.

The Christmas season will begin with the arrival of an 18ft Christmas tree in time for the Art, Design, Antiques and Vintage Fair on Sunday, November 24.

Then, on Thursday, December 5, Bishop’s Waltham traders will host the annual Christmas Fayre.

Father Christmas will arrive from 3pm and children will perform carols on the stage.

Denmead is also preparing to make Christmas memorable as 1st Denmead Scouts, Denmead Coop and the Working Deli host the Denmead Christmas Festival on Friday, December 20 at 6pm.

Councillor Rob Humby, deputy leader of Winchester Council, said: ‘There is a wonderful sense of community in our market towns and villages, and the line-up of original boutique shops will tempt the most discerning of shoppers.

‘This time of year is critical for many businesses, so I wish them all a prosperous Christmas season.’
