Fire crews called to Paulsgrove chip shop fire

FIREFIGHTERS tackled a deep fat fryer blaze at a fish and chip shop.

The crews went to the shop in Allaway Avenue, Paulsgrove, at 8.15pm last night.

Two appliances were deployed from Cosham fire station with a further appliance in attendance from Portchester.

Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire in one of the shop’s deep fat fryers.

No-one was injured or needed medical treatment and the fire was described as ‘minor’.
