VICTIMS and survivors of domestic violence are being helped by Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Firefighters will make home safety visits in East Hampshire and will install up to two smoke detectors, in a partnership with Southern Domestic Abuse Service (SDAS).

They will officer fire safety advice specific to the home and the occupant’s lifestyle and carry out an informal risk assessment to point out any hazards.

Firefighters will attend community groups run by SDAS, and provide training to SDAS workers, as well as organising visits to fire stations for victims and survivors of domestic abuse.
