Woman driving car with two children inside slams into tree on A27 in Cosham

A WOMAN was pulled from her car by paramedics after she slammed into a tree on the A27 this morning.

The incident took place on the A27 route of Western Road, in Cosham, at 8.08am today.

The car a Nissan Qashqai crashed near the South Central Ambulance Service (Scas), North Harbour Resource Centre depot.

Paramedics were on scene rapidly, joined by two fire crews from Cosham and police.

Two children, one aged six and another aged 13, managed to flee the vehicle by ‘themselves’, Hampshire Fire and Rescue confirmed.

But the adult driver needed to be ‘extricated’ by paramedics from the damaged Nissan.

A spokeswoman for the fire service added: ‘All three were taken into the care of Scas.

‘The scene was made safe by firefighters and the incident was handed over to police.’

Police close the route between Western Road and Northbridge roundabout. It was re-opened at 8.54am.

Firefighters left the scene at 8.43am.

A spokeswoman for Hampshire Constable added the injuries suffered during the crash were reportedly ‘minor’.
