FAREHAM firefighters kept a watchful eye on families as they were out trick or treating last night.

Crews joined police as they visited different areas of Fareham and gave out bags of sweets to children dressed up in spooky clothes for Halloween.

Crew manager Mark Ryder said there weren’t any problems and it looked like everyone was enjoying themselves, despite the gloomy weather.

He said: ‘It wasn’t too busy and the weather didn’t help.

‘It was just about reassuring the public that they were safe.’

Fareham fire station take part in the initiative each year.
