Firefighters tackle three cars on fire behind One Stop in Paulsgrove

Firefighters from Cosham Fire Station were called out to deal with the incident in Bourne Road at 8.50pm.

The cars were parked behind a row of shops facing Allaway Avenue.

Crew manager Mitch Creighton said: ‘We could not ascertain what caused the fire.

‘One vehicle was on fire, which spread to two other vehicles.’

The crew manager reported the first car to catch fire suffered ‘significant’ damage, with firefighters using two hose reel jets and breathing equipment to tackle the blaze.

The fire was extinguished by 9.30pm.
