SAILORS taking part in a round-the-world yacht race have set off on the latest leg.

As reported, Pete Stirling, from Titchfield, is skippering the Clipper 70 yacht Jamaica Get All Right and Gosport’s Gareth Glover is leading the yacht Qingdao.

Both are leading amateur crews in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race 13-14.

Fareham firm PSP Logistics is sponsoring a yacht, which was involved in an incident at the start of the leg.

It was returned to port alongside the yacht Great Britain.

No-one was injured in the incident.

This leg, from Albany, in Australia, will be followed by the 12-strong fleet’s debut in the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.

There are 270 crew members taking part in this leg of the race organised by Gosport firm Clipper Ventures.
