THE first of the peregrine falcon eggs at Chichester Cathedral has hatched.

The egg hatched at about 3.35pm on Friday.

It has been an eventful year already for the famous family – which are cared for by the RSPB – after a new male appeared in April.

Fourteen years of partnership, with 42 successfully-raised chicks, ended when a new male was seen courting the female.
