AN EXCITING programme of sporting events begins next month for children who live in the countryside.

The Rural Areas Play Project and Get Activ8’d Sports are back for the summer holidays and youngsters can even try their hand at Olympic sports.

As well as archery, martial arts, tennis and basketball there are alternative exercises such as Zumba dancing, climbing and cheerleading.

Other fun activities – which are available all over East Hampshire throughout August – include den building, felt making, samba drumming and creating a vegetable orchestra.

Children aged four and under are free and sessions cost £3 for children aged five and over.

All activities must be booked online and payment is made on the day.

Under eights must bring a parent to play with them at all RAPP sessions.

Online bookings can be made from noon on July 20. All activities can be booked on line at or by calling 01730 234384. Email for details.
