Fundraising walk to help teenager battling cancer to get to Disneyland

WHEN Jasmine Creed read about Natalie Turner's battle with terminal cancer, she knew she had to something to help.

Now, the 24-year-old is organising a sponsored walk in a bid to help Natalie get to Disneyland.

As reported, the 19-year-old has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and is planning her dream wedding to her childhood sweetheart John Daniells this summer.

Jasmine, from Havant, is organising a walk through the streets of Portsmouth to help Natalie raise money for a family holiday to Disneyland Paris.

She said: ‘I found out about it online. Natalie is 19-years-old and she has cancer. It’s horrible. She doesn’t deserve this.

‘If we can make something better for her before she dies then let’s do it.’

Jasmine is getting t-shirts made for people to wear on the walk as well as wrist bands and hoodies.

Natalie, from St Augustine Road in Southsea, said she was very touched to hear a stranger wanted to help her out.

‘It’s lovely. I was really surprised. It’s nice to know that people are so supportive,’ she said.

‘There are so many people that want to do this walk. I am going to come along to the finish line.’

It’s the second time Jasmine has organised a fundraising walk, after offering to help Lucy Maidens to buy a headstone for her stillborn son last year.

The walk will take place on Saturday, May 28 at 10.30am at Southsea Common, finishing at The Harvest Home in Copnor.
