SCHOOLGIRL Grace Acklam is holding a garden party to raise awareness of a rare form of kidney disease she is battling.

Grace, 10, suffers from MPGN, which means her immune system damages her kidneys and stops them from working as well as they should.

There is no known cure and so Grace, with her mother Clare Acklam, 36, of Centurion Gate, Eastney, are throwing a garden party to raise awareness of the disease and money for Kidney Research UK.

The party is being held at Upland Park Hotel, Droxford, on Sunday. Tickets cost £10 for children aged two to 14 – adults go free.

Entertainment includes a bouncy castle and tethered hot air balloon rides.

For more information call Clare on 07973 726603.
