A CHRISTMAS toy appeal aiming to make sure every child living in poverty opens a present is set to hit its target.
At the last count radio station Wave 105 had totted up 50,235 toys that had been donated.
The target for the appeal was 54,000 and there are still more toys to count.
Gloria Hill, Wave 105’s charity manager, said: ‘We are totally overwhelmed with the generosity this campaign has achieved from our radio listeners and charity supporters. We are thrilled so many underprivileged children will wake up with a gift.’
