A CARE home has teamed up with a law firm to help people and their families facing dementia understand their rights.

Experts from Allens Solicitors will be holding a legal clinic at Parker Meadows Care Home, in Fareham, to explain how people living with dementia can protect themselves and their estates.

Susan Jones, of Allens Solicitors, said: ‘Many people find the thought of making a will daunting. We are planning to help take the fear and mystery out of protecting choices in the face of dementia.’

Geraint Williams, home manager of Parker Meadows, said: ‘Getting legal affairs in order is a key element of the dementia journey and can remove a lot of stress for families and loved ones.

‘I would encourage anyone who wants to know their options to come down to our legal clinic to get the information they need from the experts, first hand.’

The legal clinic will be held at Parker Meadows care home, on Redlands Lane, on Tuesday from 3.30pm to 6.30pm. All are welcome.
