Baking enthusiasts are being encouraged to take part in a Big Bake Week to raise money for Wave 105 Cash for Kids.

From cupcakes to pies, and shortbread, participants will have the opportunity to show off their culinary skills by organising a bake sale in a workplace, community centre or school hall.

The Wave 105 presenters and news team, including News columnist Steve Power, Simon Clarke, Charlotte Butt and Liz Allaway, are taking part.

On Saturday, chef Andy Mackenzie from the Lainston House Hotel in Winchester will judge the team’s cakes, together with five other judges made up of Wave 105 listeners to decide the best bake.

Wave 105’s charity manager Gloria Hill said: ‘Our Big Bake event will be a fantastic opportunity for people to get involved with something fun for charity.

‘Every penny raised through this event really will make a difference to the lives of local children.’
