Gosport bride wants to track down paramedics who helped at wedding

Alice, from Gosport, wants to thank them after her mum Annabel Brammell started having an epileptic seizure at their wedding reception.

She wants to thank the paramedics personally for their quick and professional response which ensured their wedding day could carry on.

The 25-year-old said: ‘We had the ceremony at St Edmund’s Church, in Stubbington, and had just got to the reception at St Faith’s parish hall in Lee-on-the-Solent.

‘All the guests had had welcome drinks and we were waiting to do the receiving line.

‘My mum went into the hall with my dad and the next thing I knew she was having a seizure.’

The family called 999 and two paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service (Scas) attended.

More crew then turned up to ensure Mrs Brammell was okay.

Alice, who works at Queen Alexandra Hospital, added: ‘I have been able to get in touch with one of the paramedics who was first on the scene.

‘We exchanged messages so I was able to thank her.

‘They were fantastic with my mum and did everything they could to help and to make sure that she would be able to continue to enjoy the wedding.

‘It really meant a lot to me that she was able to do so.

‘They then sent an ambulance so that ECGs could be carried out but I didn’t manage to catch the names of those lovely girls. However, I did get a picture taken by the wedding photographer.

‘They were all so lovely and professional and it’s thanks to them that mum wasn’t taken to hospital.’

Alice said she was grateful that her mum was able to listen to the speeches and see the cake being cut. She added her mum is doing well and is waiting for test results from QA Hospital.

‘I would love to know the paramedics’ names so I could properly thank them,’ she said.

‘What they did really means a huge amount to all of us.

‘It meant the wedding could carry on and we ended up having a really lovely evening.’
