Bid to extend Southsea’s South Parade Pier cafe sparks war of words

SCHOOL pupils will call a truce to mark the famous brief moments of Christmas peace in war.

Bay House School in Gomer Lane, Gosport, is holding a concert to mark the centenary of the First World War truce.

HM Royal Marines Band Portsmouth will perform at on Monday between 6pm and 8pm.

Bay House Community Choir will perform and there will be readings, a candlelit service and the commemoration of the football match in the trenches in December 1914.

Bay House School is a historic setting for the concert.

The main house was built in 1838 and later became a naval college.
