Gosport firefighters called to 'suspicious' Alerstoke car fire

FIRE fighters were called overnight to tackle a car fire on the driveway of a property in Alverstoke.

One appliance was deployed from Gosport Fire Station to the Jellicoe Avenue property after receiving a call at 12.15am this morning (June 28). A single hose reel was used to extinguish the blaze.

A firefighter who attended the incident has confirmed the cause of the fire ‘is being treated as suspicious’.

He added: ‘The matter has been passed into the hands of the police’.
