THE mayor of Gosport will be blindfolded on a Sight Awareness Walk to highlight the difficulties faced by the visually impaired.

Cllr Richard Dickson will lead members of Gosport & Lee-on-the-Solent Lions Club through Gosport High Street, marking the Lions’ World Sight Day.

He will be joined by the mayoress, Mrs Roberta Irvine, for the walk today.

The event starts at the Town Hall at 11am.

The Lions Club will raise funds for local support groups, Gosport Access and Disability Forum and Gosport Active Club for the Visually Impaired.

It will also educate the public about Lions Sight programs, which have helped provide eyesight care worldwide.
